Since its launch, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has proved to be a great SUV for many drivers. Next to the Wrangler, the Cherokee is one of the more diverse models available, thanks to its many trim levels, body styles, and engine options. For the 2023 model year, some minor changes are coming to this model, and we want to discuss what they are.
What's New for 2023?
Coming in the 2023 model year, the Trailhawk trim will no longer be available for every Grand Cherokee model. Instead, it's now exclusive to the Grand Cherokee 4xe model. Additionally, the 4xe also gets new gloss black exterior accents. Outside of the 4xe, the Grand Cherokee will restrict the 10.1-inch digital screen to the Limited and Overland trims. Also, the nine-speaker Alpine system is now available as a standalone option for Limited trims, while the 19-speaker unit is now an option on Overland and Summit models.
Performance
The Jeep Grand Cherokee has three powertrains that can propel this model. The base powertrain is a 3.6-liter 293 horsepower V6 engine, though two other optional engines are available. The other engines include:
- 2.0-liter four-cylinder 375 hp plug-in hybrid powertrain
- 5.7-liter 357 hp V8 engine
Technology
Across its five trims, the new Jeep Grand Cherokee offers a variety of great new tech and amenities. Inside the base cabin, drivers can find features such as an 8.4-inch touchscreen, six USB ports, and a six-speaker audio system. While other trims will provide tech like heated rear seats, a navigation system, and massaging front seats.
Safety Features
There are many reasons people have loved the Jeep Grand Cherokee, and a big part of that is its list of advanced driver-aids. When out on the road, features like adaptive cruise control, a blind-spot monitor, hill ascent and descent control, and a surround-view camera system will help keep you safe.
